For the lithium battery industry, there are some "sorrows and joys". Joy comes from the disaster: With the promulgation of the "Notice on Strengthening the Pollution Prevention and Control of Lead Storage Battery and Recycled Lead Industry", many lead-acid batteries are facing "life and death", and 1774 lead-acid battery enterprises nationwide, 87% after the reorganization at the end of July. Enterprises have stopped production, which seems to be a good thing for lithium batteries.
The sorrow lies in being forced to transform. As a big mobile phone production country, the number of lithium power plants in China has reached thousands. However, with the popularity of smart phones, the threshold of the lithium battery industry has increased, which has made it difficult for manufacturers to survive, which has led to a wave of mergers. The data shows that there are currently more than 1,000 domestic lithium-ion manufacturers, and 500 of them are called transformational power battery factories, clearly indicating that more than 200 are to be done.

At the relevant industry forums currently held, many lithium battery manufacturers indicated that they would transform into power batteries in the future, and they may have seen the upcoming “Energy Saving and New Energy Vehicle Development Plan”. In the next 10 years, China will invest 100 billion yuan to support the development of the new energy automobile industry. As the first choice for power battery components, lithium batteries will usher in new development opportunities.

Wang Dong, director of the National "863" electric vehicle major special power battery test center, said in an interview that the main problem of China's lithium battery industry is how to do the battery well. Most lithium battery manufacturers have no mastery of lithium battery core technology.

"The three bottlenecks of lithium battery development are not high: the first price is high, the lithium battery is several hundred dollars more expensive than the traditional lead-acid battery; the second safety is poor; the third lacks a unified after-sales service system, and the consumer appears in the product. After the problem, the maintenance is very difficult.” Wang Dong, director of the CCTV electric vehicle channel, said, “I believe that if the lithium battery bicycle can solve these problems step by step, the future lithium battery market will definitely be widely recognized.”

Wang Zidong believes that the current industrial production capacity of lithium-ion power batteries in China is still in the process of forming. Although it can support the demonstration models, there are many problems in stability and safety. The state should set up an access mechanism for power batteries, otherwise blind investment is simply a waste.
